According to the Bulgarian legislation all companies should have an in-country address listed in the Commercial Register and provide tax authorities with access to their office every working day between 9:00 and 17:30 in case of audits, inspections and for the purpose of receipt of official documents.
Usually, it is the personal address of the CEO, the address of the accounting or of the legal office.
In addition, a representative must be available at the address, authorised to sign and receive any documents on behalf of the company and liable to taxation authorities. The use of an invalid address or an address at which the company has not provided its authorised representative may lead to serious financial and administrative penalties for the company and for its director, as well as to forcible termination of the VAT registration, together with all the negative fiscal consequences resulting therefrom.
